Brooker Gum

Brooker Gum

We are excited to introduce the newest member of our Australian themed silk scarves.

This beautiful gums is about 40 years old. I know because I planted it myself. It graces my front garden along with another older gum. Together they both tower over my house and i am always watching the changes they go through during the seasons. These images were taken mid summer when the bark has mostly shed revealing the new fresh bark underneath. The new bark is pale and silky smooth to touch. Slowly over Autumn the trunk will loose the sheen and start to develop a tougher exterior preparing for the winter months. By Winter the bark has become deeper in colour and texture and is much tougher to withstand the colder weather. As the Spring and Summer arrive, the whole process starts again.
