Jalgany

Jalgany is the word for women in the Australian Indigenous peoples Bungjalung language. This tree is tall and elegant and is very reminiscent of the beauty of the female form.

Like all gum trees it sheds its bark and changes its appearance during the summer. The old bark gradually breaks off and falls away exposing the new truck beneath. This process often takes a while and during the shed, the trunk changes in colour and texture a number of times.
