07 Jun Our Newest Arrival
The Australian Scribbly Bark scarf is finally here.
The most distinctive features of this eucalypt are the ‘scribbles’ made by moth larva as it tunnels between the layers of bark. The scribble patterns are caused when they feed on tissues just below the epidermal cells in the tree trunk. It only damaged the surface of the gum and it quickly heals itself.
The Scribbly Gum moths have been writing the story of their lives on our gum trees for millennia, and we still don’t know what they are saying.
